Scuba Diving and Snorkelling Holidays in the Bahamas

bahamas-diving-dolphinsThe Bahamas are a group of islands in the very north of the Caribbean; their southerly tip is just to the east and north of Cuba, and they stretch up the Florida coastline protected by the Florida Barrier Reef, which is the third largest in the world. The area is famous for great wreck diving, striking corals, spectacular drop offs, diverse marine life and unique dives including a Blue Hole dive. Diving with sharks is popular here, with regular Caribbean Reef Shark and Nurse Shark encounters, and the ever present possibility of Tiger or Hammerhead Shark in the right areas. Most accommodation are located in Nassua, from where you can dive all the dive sites around the island of The Bahamas, diving is year-round. In late January or early Febuary you can witness huge shoals of spawning grouper while lodging in the island of Andros, Long Island, Cat Island or the Berry Island. Or, if you visit in Novemeber and can see the 'March of the Lobsters' as these fearless creatures cross through the shllows of the Little Bahama Banks.
