Mexico Diving and
Snorkelling Holidays

Mexico is the ideal location for a holiday that can combine excellent diving in the Caribbean with exploring underground rivers, together with discovering a rich culture of temples and other historical sites. There is something for everyone, from the hustle and bustle of Cancun to the idyllic white sand beach setting of Tulum, with great diving opportunities up and down the coast, and inland in the Cenotes. The best diving is located off Cancun around Isla Mujeres and further south around Cozumel and Tulum. A mixture of wall, sloping reefs and wreck diving awaits with coral and sea grass making up the basis of a diverse marine eco-system with regular sightings of Turtles, Rays, Barracuda and all the typical Caribbean reef life but it always worth keeping an eye to the big blue as you never know what may be passing by. Ocean diving is not the only thing on offer, over time the underground rivers systems in the area have caused great sink holes to form allowing access to these underground waterways or Cenotes for some spectacular cave diving with stunning topography and haloclines as the salt and fresh water meet an absolute must for those visiting the area.

  • The walls of Cozumel Island have long been near the top of the list of destinations that divers must visit.  There are some great drift dives, suitable for all levels of experience, where Turtles, Barracuda and a whole host of other marine life can be found.
  • The Yucatan Peninsular is threaded with underground rivers, and in places these rivers have caved in, allowing a unique opportunity to experience some of the most interesting and accessible cavern diving in the world.  Cenote diving is a totally different experience to the reefs, with their awe-inspiring rock formations and eerie haloclines.
  • The picturesqua island of Isla Mujeres is a tranquil escape just a short boat ride from the hustle and bustle of touristy Cancun. It is surrounded by fringing reefs and drop offs and boasts a great variety of marine life, while on land there is a laid back, relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for divers and snorkelers.
